British Red Cross ‘Dial-a-Wheelchair’ service in Northampton

Following the success of the British Red Cross “Dial-a-Wheelchair” service in Leicestershire, the service has recently been launched in Northamptonshire.

Wheelchairs are available on short term loan (up to eight weeks), making the service suitable not only for those who have recently come home from hospital, recovering after an operation or injury, but also for social/occasional use,  making it ideal for anybody with mobility problems, for visiting relatives, days out, or even a holiday loan.

Those who have recently come out of hospital will know how difficult it is to acquire a wheelchair through the NHS so needless to say the service has proven very popular.

We also run a countywide delivery service so that even those in the most rural of locations can access the service and therefore retain their independence

We request that clients make a donation towards the service and upkeep of the chairs, thus enabling us to continue to help others in need.

Wheelchairs can be collected from our office on Moulton Park, Northampton, or a delivery and collection service is available for which there is a small charge.
