HOW YOU CAN HELP YOUNG CARERS

  • Make it easy for children and young people to talk about things that may worry them

  • Listen to what young carers and their families say

  • Have a young carer policy

Teachers, Education Welfare Officers, GP's, Health Visitors, Community, Ex School Nurses, Youth Workers, Social Workers and Workers from voluntary organisations will, at some time, be in contact with young carers.
Here are some of the areas that need to be considered:-

The Young Carer
Workers can:

  • Listen if you need someone to talk to

  • Give information and advice

  • Help you meet other young carers

  • Provide opportunities for fun activities
