The Inhabitants of Broughton in Northamptonshire on the first Sunday after the 12th of December, gather together in the village with their tinpans and kettles.

As the clock strikes midnight they march around the village beating their tincans, pans kettles, and the playing of whistles.

Their screaming, bellowing and caterwauling shattering the nights peace, as they perform this age old custom to drive out evil spirits.
